Post-NZ

My NZ student exchange is over.
I can’t wait to re-read this blog in a 1, 5 and 10 years from now.
Thank you for reading along with me.

I never posted a goodbye blog post because I was pretty sad to leave and didn’t know how to say goodbye to a place I called home.

In the two months I’ve been back in BC, I’ve been trying to incorporate New Zealand Sarah with Canadian Sarah.
I’ve done so by acknowledging that I cared less about how I looked or what people though of me in NZ, and I said yes to things that scared me almost every single day.
I’ve been jumping off of cliffs around the Okanagan and swimming in the lake a lot, something I have always been scared to do because of the fear of the unknown.
I also sang at an Open Mic and plan on continuing to do so. I’m still obsessed with surfing and I’m not done pursuing the sport or the lifestyle.

Here is a video I made to summarize my adventures:

This is an acrylic painting I did to reflect how it seems my head is one place, my feet are in another, and they can't be in both places at the same time. The mountain is Mt. Cook/Aoraki and the surfer is waiting in anticipation of the next wave.

      1. Miss you too. Still craving all the falafels and hummus over up in Israel. Still regret those waves that never really came on that beach… 😥

  1. I crave those all the time! Yo, tell you what, I regret those waves even more since I was the one that made us carry boards all the way to nothingness. Come catch some waves on the coast with me one of these days! Organizing a trip for next weekend 🙂
