Homemade

I made a video for my baby sister who has been living in South America for the last 7 months.
I shot my family in the house we’ve lived in since we were born, doing goofy and beautiful things.
I miss her dearly and know that she has grown up a lot since she’s been in a different hemisphere. I’ve learned that distance is good, it helps you gain perspective, but it sure is hard when you love a person deeply. Whoever watches this probably can’t tell, but to me it is frighteningly vulnerable. I also have to acknowledge how blessed I am to have a family that is still together (just spread out), it is such a gift. Loving families exist.

  1. TO SARAHS READERS,

Im Sarah’s little sis living in this big-old southern hemisphere in a gorgeous country called Brazil. She sent this to me and I was reduced to tears. Earth-shattering heart warmed tears of joy and “saudades.” She showed me the little world I left behind and it made me remember the simple beauty of what home looks like. Distance makes the heart grow fonder, for all things, especially for family and the warmth of the familiar things you’ve left behind. Love you and miss you bigsis, see you in 78 days! Beijos e embraços do Brasil irmã! Te amo muito!
